Upgraded FM Transmitter!
We're expecting a NEW Ramsey FM30B Stereo FM Transmitter for our MobMov, replacing our older C-Crane model that gave me constant headaches with its faulty volume control and buzzing interference.
This thing was a bit pricey when purchased assembled, but other MobMovers have sung its praises, so I'm looking forward to trying it out! Also, I wasn't terribly interested in testing my soldering skills with such an elaborate project. I foresaw many poor solder joints and burns.
Come down to our 9/12 showing or check out our Horror October shows! The audio should be much improved. Tune in to 88.3, as always.
Aaaand we're rolling!
If you're feeling very special right now, it's because you're reading the very first blog post of the SRMM (San Rafael MobMov)!
To check out what a MobMov is, go here and read up. We're good folks (no, really) who like to grab a car, projector and FM transmitter, head out into the Great Unknown (deserted parking lot) and watch flicks on the side of buildings and such. It's like a small scale drive in that, as the MobMov people are wont to say, drives in.
Ha. See, we're funny.
This San Rafael chapter has had four showings, the first being almost a year ago this weekend, 9/15/08. The movies have included The Host, Head Trauma, Hedwig & The Angry Inch and Donnie Darko. This Friday, we'll celebrate our one year anniversary with a breast cancer awareness benefit showing of ANCHORMAN, and then in All-Horror-October, we'll be creeping you out with two shows featuring horror flicks from Japan and Hollywood!
Stay Tuned!
